Pushing Earth system science forward: Lessons learned from SUSY to CESM2

Please join us in welcoming Jean-Francois Lamarque, ACOM/CGD, National Center for Atmospheric Research.

In this talk, I will present several events of my scientific career and describe how my responses and thought process have shaped my approach to science, leadership and management. In particular, I will discuss lessons I learned during my recent experience as the Chief Scientist for the Community Earth System Model. In the second portion of the talk, I will present an overview of my thoughts on near-term and long-term goals for CGD, focusing on future research directions, the associated necessary steps and actions, and how it relates to the Community.
