Attention all scientists, this is your opportunity to be a shining star in a movie made just for you. Earth Explorers is seeking NCAR scientists to highlight, mentor with and create a short movie that highlights your science and interests. This nonprofit program is based at Trail Ridge Middle School in Longmont, Colorado. Its mission is to open doors to science and foster 21st century skills to 7th and 8th grade students. As a volunteer in this program, you would be interviewed and work with a small group of students that seek to tell your story over the course of the upcoming Fall Semester, 2013. The project culminates with a Red Carpet Gala of short movies that are entirely student produced and showcased at the end of the semester for all to see. For examples and further information, please see their website at earthexplorers.org. The landing page in fact shows an example of students in our very own Vizlab at the Mesa Lab. If you are interested and able to make a small commitment to the future of these learners seeking to tell your story, contact Marc Mueller in Spark at X1162 or email@example.com.
