Abstract:
In this talk, Dr. Michael Hammond, a RAL visitor from Exeter University, will explain his research in urban flood modelling, starting with estimates of extreme rainfall and following the modelling chain through to detailed urban simulation, and how these can be linked to flood impacts, such as damage to buildings or the risk to life. This seminar will include examples from both European and Asian cities. This research is being undertaken as part of the European Funded FP7 Project CORFU (Collaborative Flood Resilience in Urban Areas)
