Library Blog: Did Weather Impact the Outcome of the Battle of Gettysburg?

The Battle of Gettysburg has the tragic distinction of being the bloodiest battle of the American Civil War. This year marks the 150th anniversary of that battle which occurred on July 1 -3, 1863. Thanks to the diligent efforts (three times a day) of a local man, Rev. Dr. Jacobs, documenting the “meteorology of the battle” one gains a sense of the many challenges the weather posed to all involved in this battle. AMS’s The Front Page blog provides further analysis.
