MEETINGMAKER & ROOM/RESOURCE SCHEDULER NEW USER TRAINING June 5, 2012 9:00 am – 11:30 am; CG2-CTTC Facilitator: Cheryl Cristanelli Review and practice basic features and functions of MeetingMaker and Room/Resource Scheduler. MeetingMaker: Basic overview of functions, customizing and maintaining personal calendars, personal address books, scheduling meetings and locations, responding to invitations, working with proxies; reviewing web-based version. Room/Resource Scheduler: Basic overview of RRS, how MM and RRS intersect, finding and reserving rooms, adding services; inviting guests; using proxies, editing reservations. Trainings can also be customized for individuals or groups.
PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL SKILLS/PROCESS: Strategies & Resources for Supervisors June 5, 2012 9:00 am – 11:30 pm; CG1-2126 Facilitator: Michelle Darveau Learn tools to manage and evaluate the performance of your employees. Topics include: Why we do performance appraisals; Understanding UCAR's appraisal process; What to measure; Communicating expectations; Setting measurable goals; legal considerations; Monitoring effectiveness; Managing poor performance; Documentation; Conducting Performance Evaluation Meetings; Coaching for improved performance and effective feedback; Resolving differences; Follow-up and action plans. CONTINUING YOUR CAREER ADVENTURE JOURNEY: What’s Next? June 6, 2012 9:45 am – 11:45 am; FL2-1001 Facilitator: Christine Gust This mini-workshop will help you to continue building on the skills, tools and strategies for creating satisfying work gained in the 3-part, Career Adventure Mini-Series with Christine Gust. In this session you will revisit your career/work goals, review your current status, celebrate achievements, identify barriers/road blocks and develop strategies to continue your career adventure journey. In addition, participants in this program will also have an opportunity to schedule a FREE, private, one-hour career coaching session with Christine Gust. Information and instructions for scheduling private coaching dates/times/locations will be discussed at the seminar. Prerequisite - Completion of the Career Adventure Series: Strategies for Creating Satisfying Work, 3-part mini series.
WORKPLACE HARASSMENT AWARENESS SEMINAR June 7, 2012 10:00 am – 12:00 pm; FL2-1001 Facilitator: Chuck Passaglia Overview of the rights of employees to be free from all forms of unlawful harassment in the workplace. Particular emphasis on legal implications and UCAR policies in the areas of sexual harassment, intimidation, bullying, workplace respect, conduct in the workplace, preventing and reporting any form of workplace harassment.
PHOTOSHOP CS5 LEVEL 2 (2 day class) June 20 & 21, 2012 9:00 am – 4:00 pm; CG2-CTTC Facilitator: New Horizons Trainer Participants will learn advanced features of Adobe Photoshop. ENHANCING IMAGES: Retouch Images, Adjust Tonal Range Using Adjustment Layers. VECTOR PATHS: Work with Vector Paths, Create/Edit Vector Paths. APPLYING CUSTOM FILLS: Create Swatches and Gradients, Create Custom Patterns and Brushes. WORKING WITH LAYERS: Blend Layers, Work with Shape Layers, Work with Masks, Apply Special Effects to a Layer. AUTOMATING TASKS: Work with Actions, Automate Tasks in Adobe Bridge. WORKING WITH VIDEO FILES: Edit Video Files, Export Video Files. INTEGRATING WITH OTHER APPLICATIONS: Integrate with Adobe Illustrator, Edit with Adobe Acrobat.
HOT OPERATIONS June 21, 2012 11:30 am – 12:30 am ; RAF/Jeffco Conference Room Facilitator: Milenda Powers Learn to keep from burning down the shop and avoid having "arsonist" on your permanent record. Hot operations refer to work that involves open flames, torches and welding. The Safety policy and permit requirements for this work will be reviewed during this brief class.
HAZARD COMMUNICATION June 21, 2012 9:00 am – 10:30 am ; RAF/Jeffco Conference Room Facilitator: Milenda Powers Employees have the right to know about hazardous materials and how to protect themselves. Learn about the hazards of chemicals and how to use labels and Material Safety Data Sheets to protect against those hazards. Attending this class fulfills training requirements specified by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).
LOCKOUT/TAGOUT June 21, 2012 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm; RAF/Jeffco Conference Room Facilitator: Milenda Powers Avoid electrocution of yourself and others by learning how to deactivate energy systems. Recognize dangers and hazards of stored energies. Control hazards by disconnecting and blocking the energy path and perform a lock out/ tag out operation. An audit of lock-out/tag-out skills is conducted yearly.
CONFINED SPACE June 21, 2012 10:30 am – 11:30 am; RAF/Jeffco Conference Room Facilitator: Milenda Powers The number one goal of working in a confined space is to get out safely! If you ever need to enter confined spaces, like a tank, pit or manhole, this course is for you. Discussions cover hazards that claim lives of workers around the country each year, as well as how following the UCAR confined space policy will prevent that from happening to us.
WEB DEVELOPMENT USING CASCADING SHEETS CS5 (2 days) June 26, 2012 9:00 am – 4:00 pm; CG2-CTTC Facilitator: New Horizons Trainer Learn to use CSS to design and develop effective websites.
