HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING

The CISL Consulting Services Group will offer its  four-day High
Performance Computing (HPC) workshops on May 22 to 25, 2012, to help
our users learn essential knowledge and skills to work with
supercomputers. Topics include CISL Facilities and Support Overview,
UNIX, Fortran, Programmer’s Tools, Parallel Programming with
MPI/OpenMP, NCL/IDL/Matlab, and others.

CPR RECERTIFICATION (MERT and Field Campaign Staff Only)

Review and practice basic CPR techniques and first aid skills and how to use them in real life emergency situations. UCAR’s MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team) members will also learn how to work on a team that provides emergency care until 911 Emergency Medical Services arrive. Certification is a full day course, Re-certification is a ½ day course.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING

Learn the proper use of fire extinguisher equipment and what type of equipment should be used to extinguish different types of fires. Use different types of fire extinguishers and test abilities to extinguish an actual controlled fire in the parking lot.
