More info! Recycling Home Electronics and Personal Items

This is a friendly reminder that we CANNOT accept your home electronics, batteries, or any other personal items for recycling at UCAR.  Please take advantage of the excellent recycling resources in the community for all your personal electronics, batteries, and other recyclables.  If you have questions about how to recycle items, Sustainability staff are happy to answer them.

Need to recycle a work item? Visit the Sustainability website for information on recycling electronics, batteries, mobile phones, data tapes and CDs, books, and more. Remember, work with your Division Property Administrator (DPA) on disposing of any items with property tags, such as computers and smartphones.

Community ResourcesThis is a selection of Colorado Front Range resources. Sustainability staff are happy to help you locate additional resources in your area. Be wary of businesses with "free" electronics recycling events, as some simply send materials oversees. Look for eStewards certification

EcoCycle's Center for Hard to Recycle Materials is at 5030 "Old" Pearl Street, Boulder, CO 80301 and accepts electronics and an extensive list of other recyclables from anyone (not just Boulder County residents).  Just a mile from CG and FL, it's the most convenient option for many staff. EcoCycle provides eStewards certified electronics recycling, which means you can rest assured your electronics are processed responsibly. Small fees apply for certain items - see website.
