New in AtmosNews: Warming world, Boulder snow drought

Events like the unusually widespread U.S. warmth of March and the Pakistan floods of 2010 bring to mind questions about how much global climate change might be involved. According to NCAR's Kevin Trenberth, natural variability plays an important role in such events, but they're also affected to some extent by recent changes in the global atmosphere.

March is normally the snowiest month of the year for the Front Range, but March 2012 will go down as an epic snow fail. However, there could be a sharp fork in the road this month influencing our rain- and snow-starved, "Rocky Mountain dry" pattern.
