On 21 October 2011, UCAR formally accepted the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC) in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This marked the completion of the facility construction and commissioning effort. A number of UCAR staff have expressed interest in having the opportunity to visit and tour the NWSC in order to learn more about the design, construction, and planned operations of the new supercomputing center.
The NWSC Project Office (NPO) and CISL are in the process of assessing general staff interest in touring the facility.
If you have an interest in visiting the NWSC, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, 14 November 2011. Please include your name in the body of the e-mail message. Additionally, the NPO and CISL note that computing equipment will not be installed in the facility until near the end of spring 2012. If you are interested in touring the NWSC following the arrival of computing equipment, please indicate this preference in your e-mail message as well. The NPO and CISL personnel will use all responses received to determine how best to establish a schedule of tours for the new facility.
