We are currently seeking mentors to guide high-school students in conducting research or doing research-related projects at UCAR/NCAR/UCP.
This summer, for the second year in a row, we are hosting 15-20 high-school students in a formal internship program modeled after SOARS. The students will spend 20 hours a week from 26 June to 5 August working on projects, and we are looking for people who are interested in guiding students in research or research-related projects. The students will also be part of a study designed to better understand the impact of research experiences in high-school on career choice and knowledge about science.
We had an unexpectedly large number of students, including a cohort from Puerto Rico, so we are looking for additional mentors. To sign up, please contact Nancy Wade or Rebecca Haacker-Santos.
