MET verification software summer tutorial

Dear Colleagues, Come learn to verify WRF! There is still space available in the Model Evaluation Tools (MET) Tutorial, scheduled for 27 - 28 June 2011. It will be held at the NCAR Foothills Lab in Boulder, CO.  NOTE that this tutorial will follow the WRF Users' Workshop and precede the GSI tutorial. There is one day of overlap with the GSI Workshop.  The first day will consist of basic MET lectures and practical sessions. During the second day, advanced, ensemble, and spatial verification methods will be presented and practiced. TUTORIAL FOCUS: The tutorial will begin with a verification methods review. Basic software functionality will be discussed and practiced the first afternoon. The second day will focus on more advanced model evaluations using the MET software, and will include practice. A basic understanding of  the model verification methods is required to make full use of the MET tutorial. Due to the constraints of physical space and computers, we can only accommodate a maximum of 40 participants. Register early, as registration always exceeds capacity!
