CPR CERTIFICATION (MERT and Field Campaign Staff Only) April 14, 2011 10:00 am – 5:00 pm; FL2-1003 Facilitator: Mike Grosshans Review and practice basic CPR techniques and first aid skills and how to use them in real life emergency situations. UCAR’s MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team) members will also learn how to work on a team that provides emergency care until 911 Emergency Medical Services arrive.

CONFLICT STRATEGIES: Navigating Others through Workplace Difficulties April 18, 2011 9:00 am – 4:00 pm; ML-Damon Facilitator: Jennifer York One of the most critical and demanding elements of a supervisor, manager or team lead's role is assisting others in the resolution of conflict. In this session participants will learn to recognize when intervention may be necessary, explore a variety of conflict intervention strategies and how to apply critical conflict management tools to help others.

BUSINESS ETHICS: What every employee needs to know April 26, 2011 10:00 am – 12:00 pm; CG4-2020 Facilitator: Katy Schmoll This seminar reviews the UCAR Ethics program, with its guidelines and associated policies and procedures, provides a framework for behavior expectations of all UCAR staff. (UCAR Ethics Program: http://www.fin.ucar.edu/ethics/index.html.) Review UCAR policies and procedures: Ethical Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Lobbying, Fraud, Research Misconduct, Investigator Financial Disclosure for Officers & Trustees.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT FUNDAMENTALS (2.5 day class) April 27 & April 28, 2011 full days; April 29, 2011 half day full day - 9:00 am – 4:00 pm; FL1-Atrium half day – 9:00am – 12pm; FL1-Atrium Participants will learn basic knowledge and skills to plan, execute, monitor, control and complete successful projects. Small team work will provide opportunities to practice by working on a current project, or using a practice project.
