WRF Tutorial

The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model Tutorial will be offered from 25-29 January 2016 at the NCAR Foothills Laboratory.

The tutorial will consist of lectures on various components of the WRF modeling system along with hands-on practice sessions.  The topics include:

b. WRF Dynamics and Numerics

c. Physics

d. Software Framework

e. Post-processing and Graphical Tools

Regional Climate Tutorial

The Regional Climate Tutorial will be offered over a 3-day period from Wednesday July 22-Friday July 24, 2015 at the NCAR Foothills Laboratory, Boulder, Colorado.  This tutorial provides a broad overview of best practices for developing regional climate data and how it can be used for impact assessments.  The lectures and lab experiences will be taught by a team of NCAR climate scientists, regional climate modelers and data scientists. Topics include:    a. Considerations for doing Dynamical Downscaling (the WRF model will be used as an example of a regional climate model)
