NCAR|UCAR Communications

Senior Science Writer | +1 303-497-8605

My primary responsibility is to give people a peek into the wide range of fascinating scientific research going on across NCAR and UCAR. I write articles for AtmosNews as well as press releases and content for the organization’s website and other publications.

My background

I began working for NCAR & UCAR Communications in April 2015 after spending a couple years as a science writer for the University of Colorado Boulder. Before that, I was the science and environment reporter and weekend editor for the Daily Camera newspaper in Boulder, Colorado. I have a bachelor's degree in environmental science from Virginia Tech and a master's in journalism from CU-Boulder.

Before becoming a journalist, I worked as an outdoor and environmental educator for Outward Bound, the National Outdoor Leadership School, and the Yosemite Institute.

Some other interests

I love to climb, run, and mountain bike, but I also have a soft spot for sewing, cooking and, of course, hanging out with my toddler.
