December 17, 2012 | Many of the 1,700 employees at NSF’s headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, haven't had the opportunity to visit Boulder, but NCAR scientists brought their work and their enthusiasm to the funding agency in a day-long road show. The first-ever NCAR Science Day at NSF unfolded on November 16, with more than a dozen oral and poster presentations on a range of research topics.
December 3, 2012 | With staff members spread across nearly a dozen buildings in the Boulder area—not to mention the new NWSC in Wyoming, the Mauna Loa Solar Observatory in Hawaii, and other locations—NCAR and UCAR are calling more often than ever on virtual modes of meeting. Options for sharing audio and video to convey content from multiple sites have grown substantially over the last few months, thanks to new software and hardware.

November 2, 2012 | UCAR's first seasonal flu clinic was held at the Mesa Lab on November 1. During the month of November the flu clinic will travel to multiple campuses to provide free flu shots for employees, retirees, their spouses/partners and dependent (adult) children 18-26 years of age.

November 2, 2012 | Human Resources and Contracts painted three wildly contrasting visions of the future on Wednesday in the Anthes Building. Visitors could take their pick: heaven, hell, or the Happy Vista Nursing Home. This was the 18th year of HR's longstanding tradition of celebrating Halloween with a different costume theme each year, while Contracts joined in just this year. October 23, 2012 | The NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC) in Cheyenne, Wyoming, debuted with a flourish on Monday, October 15, in a grand opening event that brought together officials and dignitaries from the institutions that collaborated to make the NWSC a reality.
