This month's WAG meeting will feature a presentation by Carl Drews: How to Archive Data with a Journal Publication. Scientific publications often report the results of numerous model runs, and the output files may occupy many Gigabytes of disk storage. How can a researcher archive these files in a manner that will be associated with the publication, and will provide easy access for other scientists? Not on your personal memory stick! Carl Drews will present a way to archive scientific data at NCAR using the Earth System Grid. The resulting dataset has a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) that can be used to locate and download the original data files.
