Supervisory Skills: The Basics; January 15, 2014, 9am-4pm, FL2-1003 - Learn important skills and tools to help your staff strive for continued improvement and achieve results.  Topics include: Reviewing UCAR supervisor/manager competencies; maximizing employee performance; exploring models for task and priority management; motivating a diverse workforce; setting and communicating expectations; defining and practicing effective feedback strategies; recognizing work-style differences among employees; capitalizing on employee engagement; enchancing listening skills for mutual understanding; managing effectively through difficult situations; identifying strategies to support and develop employees.

Excel 2010 Level 2, January 28, 2014, 8:30am-12:00pm, CG2-CTTC - Learn to streamline and enhance spreadsheeets with templates, charts, graphics, and formulas.  Calculate date with advanced formulas.  Manage cell and range names, calculate data across worksheets, specialized functions, analyze data with logical and lookup functions; organizing worksheets and table data.  Create/modify tables, formatting, sort/filter worksheets or table data, calculate data in tables or worksheets; presenting data: creating/modifying/formatting charts; analyzing data with pivot tables and pivot charts; inserting graphics: Insert/modify pictures and clip art draw and modify shapes, illustrate workflow using smart art graphics, layer and group graphic objects; customizing and enhancing workbooks: manage themes, templates.
