The Proposal and Award (PandA) project team will be offering additional training sessions in December as part of the proposal system release. The PandA system is now available to all staff involved in the proposal process upon completion of training. Beginning January 1, 2014, all proposals must be submitted through PandA.
Before gaining access to the system, all users must complete training as required by the Presidents’ Council covering UCAR business processes and employee legal responsibilities related to award management, accounting, and budgeting and proposal processes. Training sessions to cover this material, along with use of the system to create and route proposals, have been organized by the budget offices and administrative staff for all new users. Please note, if you have previously attended a mandatory training session as part of Beta rollout, you will not need to attend a December session.
To enroll in one of the available training sessions listed below, please coordinate with your lab or division/program administrator AND enroll in the training through the EOD Training Catalog via Connect:
Use your UCAS/Timecard login, click on “EOD Training Catalog”, search for “PandA”, click on “Details” for the appropriate session and click on “Enroll”
December 5, 2013, FL2 1001, 12:30-4:00
December 17, 2013, FL2-1022, 12:30 – 4:00
UCP / NCAR Combined Training:
December 6, 2013, FLA 2111, 1:00-3:00
Additional training sessions will be offered at a later time as needed.
Upon completion of training, you will be provided the URL to access the system with a PandA system role approved by your lab or program and budget office. Additional information regarding passwords, a sandbox environment, and user guides will also be provided at this time.
Some labs or programs may choose to have administrative staff manage proposals in the system initially to become familiar with the system before PIs begin initiating their own proposals within PandA. Please check with administrators in your program or division.
If you need assistance with the new system, please contact Valerie Koch for NCAR (firstname.lastname@example.org, x1113) or Kelly Smith for UCP (email@example.com, x8647), or contact the IT helpdesk at firstname.lastname@example.org for technical matters.
We look forward to making this proposal management system available to all staff.
