Workplace Harassment Awareness Seminar
September 5, 2013

Overview of the rights of employees to be free from all forms of unlawful harassment in the workplace. Particular emphasis on legal implications and UCAR policies in the areas of sexual harassment, intimidation, bullying, workplace respect, conduct in the workplace, preventing and reporting any form of workplace harassment.

Fire Extinguisher Training
September 5, 2013
10:00 am – 12:00 pm; RAF/Jeffco Conference Room
Facilitator: Luis Rutledge

Learn the proper use of fire extinguisher equipment and what type of equipment should be used to extinguish different types of fires. Use different types of fire extinguishers and test abilities to extinguish an actual controlled fire in the parking lot.

CPR Certification & First Aid Training (Field Campaign & Facilities Staff Only)
September 5, 2013
1:00 pm – 4:30 pm; RAF/Jeffco Conference Room
Facilitator: Luis Rutledge

Review and practice basic CPR techniques and first aid skills and how to use them in real life emergency situations. Participants will learn how to provide emergency care until 911 Emergency Medical Services arrive. Completion of this workshop meets both certification and recertification requirements.

Export Controls Training – General Session

This general session is open to all UCAR/NCAR/UCP staff. ITAR ( International Traffic in Arms Regulations), EAR ( Export Administration Regulations), OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control), and general export controls laws and regulations will be reviewed in the context of a scientific research institution. Completion of this session will be recorded and fulfills the requirement for initial and annual refresher export compliance training. In this session you will learn the answers to: 1. Why is awareness so critical to federally-funded research institutions? 2. What are export controls? How do they work? How are they enforced? 3. How do controls impact you as a PI (Principal Investigator), researcher or research administrator? 4. How do you remain compliant and subject to as few controls as possible? 5. What is the purpose and scope of OFAC Regulations?

Export Controls for Eos, ECCs, PIs, Directors

This focused session is designed specifically for UCAR's EOs (Empowered Officials), ECCs (Export Compliance Coordinators), PIs (Principal Investigators) and Directors, and those tasked with direct responsibilities for providing guidance to others on UCAR's export compliance policies, processes and procedures. ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), EAR (Export Administration Regulations), OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control), and general export controls laws and regulations will be reviewed in the context of a scientific research institution with indepth focus on practical applications of export controls as they affect UCAR/NCAR/UCP. In addition, you will learn the answers to: 1. Why is awareness so critical to federally-funded research institutions? 2. What are export controls? How do they work? How are they enforced? 3. How do controls impact you as a PI, researcher or research administrator? 4. How do you remain compliant and subject to as few controls as possible?

Export Controls Lunch/Learn Seminar for IT & Sys Adms

Brown Bag Session for IT, Sys Admins, and Technical Data Issues. Bring your lunch to this interactive discussion for IT staff, sys admins, and anyone working with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) or EAR (Export Administration Regulations) controlled technical data or software. Mr. Fischer will answer specific questions and provide guidance for handling export controlled data and working with networking and access issues. This is a technically-focused Q&A session and does NOT meet the mandatory export controls annual training requirement.
