“NCAR Science Highlights - 2013”

On November 13, 2012 NCAR hosted a “Science Day” at NSF to highlight current research.  The purpose of this in-house series is to provide the same talks and posters to UCAR staff and visitors. An event calendar is below.  We hope that you are able to attend!

February 27, 12pm-2pm, CG1-Lobby: A poster session will be held in coordination with the UCAR Board of Trustees meeting.  This event will include a coffee and cake reception.  Our poster presenters are:

Seminar Series:   In addition to the above poster session, there will be a series of three seminars during the lunch hour:

  • March 5, 12pm-1pm, FL2-Large Auditorim:  Chris Davis and Rebecca Morss will present a one-hour seminar from 12pm-1pm titled “Derechos and Other Extreme Weather Events: Predictions, Warnings, and Responses."   This event will include a coffee and cake reception from 1pm-2pm in the FL2 Café Atrium. 
  • March 13, 12pm-1pm, FL2-Large Auditorium:  Brian O’Neill and Claudia Tebaldi/Climate Central will present a one-hour seminar from 12pm-1pm titled “Future Climate Extremes: Physical and Human Dimensions".   This event will include a coffee and cake reception from 1pm-2pm in the FL2 Café Atrium. 
  • March 22, 12pm-1pm, ML Main Seminar Room:  Bill Mahoney and Branko Kosovic will present a one-hour seminar from 12pm-1pm titled “Wind Energy Prediction: Challenges and Opportunities".   This event will include a coffee and cake reception from 1pm-2pm in the ML mezzanine outside of the seminar room.
