RTD Smart Cards Now Required On All Routes

The 2012 RTD EcoPass decal extension period has ended so all riders must now have a valid smart card to ride RTD buses and light rail (available at the ML and FL front desks).

If you encounter problems with your card or the card reader on the bus, the driver is NOT permitted to collect a fare if the photo matches the rider and will allow boarding.  Please stop by the front desk so that they can determine that card data is correct and activated.  If the card is ok, you can contact RTD to resolve the problem:

If you would like to report a bus driver not following proper procedures, please send an email to ecopasstraining@rtd-denver.com with the following information so that RTD can follow up with the driver:

  • Explanation of procedure not followed
  • Time
  • Date
  • Location you boarded
  • Bus number OR route and direction
