Employees of NCAR are being offered *free* attendance to a one-day course on ENVI (the Environment for Visualizing Images software). For non-NCAR people the registration fee is $2,200. The course will take place in Boulder on February 11, 9AM to 5PM.
ENVI was originally written in IDL by CIRES/CSES scientist at CU Boulder in the 90s. If you work with large datasets (satellite data, field campaign data, DEM's, ...) you'll find that ENVI can save you a lot of programming time. ENVI has a very user-friendly interface. More importantly, you can easily integrate ENVI routines in your IDL code.
