The purpose of this announcement is to solicit applications for the NCAR Science Advisor position. This key position was created to serve as a link between NCAR management and NCAR scientists, to represent the NCAR Scientist Assembly (NSA) on the NCAR Executive Committee and Directors' Committee, UCAR Management Council Meetings and the NCAR Internal Science Advisory Committee, and to provide advice to the NCAR Directorate regarding issues that affect NCAR research activities and its staff. This is a replacement, half-time position funded by the Director's Office, with possibility of extension. The Science Advisor must be a member of the NSA who does not currently hold an upper management position (such as Division Director or above). In addition, only Senior Scientists and Senior Research Engineers are eligible for the position.
