Batteries can contain toxic heavy metals such as nickel, mercury, and lead which can pollute our air and water if not disposed of properly. We work with a responsible local battery handler that recycles batteries with recoverable metal content, and appropriately disposes of batteries that are not recyclable.
All types of ‘small’ spent, work generated batteries are accepted at the collection locations. Contact HESS by calling extension 8625 or 2409 for pickup of larger batteries, ex. automobile, motorcycle or UPS.
