The NCAR Community Art Program hosts a photography exhibit by Nancy Myer through November 27 in Gallery I. The artist enjoys capturing flowers on film and is often attracted first by the color. Upon exploring more closely, she discovers hidden shapes, patterns, and textures that are visually captivating. She presents these sometimes overlooked details in her photographs while maintaining the right balance of sharp and soft focus.
In Gallery II, mixed media paintings by Kit Hevron Mahoney are on display. The artist is inspired by the rhythms and radiant energy of nature. She communicates visually and vibrantly through her dynamic paintings using bold colors and textures. Her harmonious paintings offer viewers places of rest and rejuvenation with an element of excitement.
Staff and anyone who is interested is invited to the artist reception on Friday, September 30th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
NCAR's Mesa Laboratory is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and weekends/holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
