Did you know that UCAR is ramping up a major sustainability planning effort… and that we want YOUR input?
All staff are invited to a Sustainability Planning Workshop. You’ll learn about the Sustainability Management Plan currently being developed, participate in brainstorming discussions to get your ideas incorporated, and get answers to your questions about sustainability at UCAR/NCAR/UCP.
For convenience, we are hosting two identical workshops to make it easier for staff at each campus to attend:
Monday, August 29th
Mesa Lab – Damon Room
Workshop: 9:30 am – 10:30 am
Q&A: 10:30 – 11:00 am
Tuesday, August 30th
Center Green 1 – Center Auditorium
Workshop: 1:30 – 2:30 pm
Q&A: 2:30 – 3:00 pm
RSVPs encouraged but not required. Contact Kimberly Kosmenko (firstname.lastname@example.org or x8532)
Why create a Sustainability Management Plan?
A Sustainability Management Plan (SMP) leads the way to cost savings, improved environmental impact, enhanced staff comfort and wellness, and leadership in the community. It’s about walking the talk, and building on two decades of employee-initiated sustainability efforts.
An SMP identifies sustainability goals, action steps, and quantitative metrics to track progress for a number of “impact areas,” such as energy use and indoor air quality.
The SMP will impact many operational areas, and we need your help to create a plan that supports your division/lab/program efforts and is supported by staff across the organization. Staff input is critical to getting the SMP right.
