New Long Distance Contract

The Network Engineering & Telecommunications Section (NETS) has procured a new contract for UCAR long distance service that will provide excellent service for reduced costs.  The services affected include:

    Telephone calling cards

    Long Distance Rates

The new vendor is Qwest. Transition of our existing services to the new plan has begun and will be complete by April 15, 2011.  Most of the changes are administrative and will not be noticeable to users, however we will be sending new calling cards to all existing calling card users.

The new Qwest Networx calling cards will replace all current Sprint calling cards. A new card will be sent to each user along with instructions to start using the new cards immediately and to destroy the old cards.  All Sprint calling card accounts will be canceled on April 15, 2011.

If you are not an existing Sprint user and would like to request a new calling card please submit a Work Request at
