Acrylic paintings titled "Colors of Remembrance" by Colleen Hennessy are on display in Gallery I of NCAR's Mesa Lab October 25 - November 27. The artist began producing a series of acrylic and watercolor paintings while living in the mountain jungle of Honduras serving as a Peace Corps volunteer from 2005-2007. She loves variation, with a taste for abstract patterning and the repeated use of bold colors. Human beings are her favorite subject and she believes that all art manifests some aspect of the autobiographical. The artist finds energy and inspiration from travel, personal freedom, new friends, and new attention to her work.
Staff and the public are invited to the opening reception on Saturday, November 13th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the NCAR gallery.
NCAR's Mesa Laboratory is open to the public weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and weekends/holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
