There are a couple of options for setting up conference calls at UCAR. For calls involving 6 participants or less (including the initiator), you can set up an ad-hoc conference call right from your Cisco desk or Polycom conference phone. Calls involving more than 6 parties would be placed using the ReadyTalk service contract. To set up a ReadyTalk conference, contact your Division Web Conferencing Administrative Lead here. To create a conference call of up to 6 participants (including yourself) from a Cisco desk phone:1) Dial the first party2) After you are connected, press the "More" button on the phone3) Then press the "Confrn" button4) Dial the second party5) After the second party has answered, press the "Confrn" button to bring them in to the conference6) To add another party, press "More" and then "Confrn"7) Dial the next party8) After they have answered, press the "Confrn" button to bring them in to the conference9) Repeat steps 6-8 to join up to a total of 6 parties (including yourself) to the conferenceFrom a Polycom conference phone (triangular unit found in some conference rooms):1) Dial the first party2) After they answer, press "CONF", "flash", or the button with a three-person graphic (depending on the phone model)3) Dial the second party4) After they answer, press "CONF", "flash", or the button with a three-person graphic (depending on the phone model)5) Repeat steps 3-4 to join up to a total of 6 parties (including yourself) to the conference* If you end up in someone's voicemail, press "CONF", or the appropriate conference button for the phone model.
