Black and white photography by George Vago is on display in Gallery I of NCAR's Mesa Lab through October 23. The artist believes that in contrast to a world full of color, a black and white image has the magical ability to command attention and focus. It adds drama and power and invites the viewer to enter the image. Vago credits his bold and intense imagery as strongly influenced by his turbulent and dramatic early years as a native of Hungary.
In Gallery II, an exhibition of mixed media artwork titled “Gridwork Rippings,” by Barbara Bueller is on display through November 27. The artist creates her current series of artwork by ripping metallic and painted papers into small designs which are then formed into a larger collection which studies the interplay between color and movement within an organized grid.
NCAR's Mesa Laboratory is open to the public weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and weekends/holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for admission. Please note the building will be closed for scheduled maintenance on Saturday, October, 9.
